Swindon Mayor Launches the Swindon Boishaki Mela at GWR Park

The vibrant colours and sounds of South Asia will come alive in Swindon this summer as the Mayor of Swindon officially launches the much-anticipated Swindon Boishaki Mela.

This exciting cultural event will take place on Sunday, 13th July 2025, at the GWR Park, Faringdon Road, Swindon, and promises to be a day of celebration, unity, and joy for the whole family.

Organised by the Bangladesh Association of Swindon, the Swindon Boishaki Mela marks the New Year celebrations of several South Asian countries. Over the years, the event has gained tremendous popularity, drawing crowds from all walks of life, eager to experience the rich cultural heritage of the South Asian community in Swindon. It offers a fantastic opportunity to foster understanding and appreciation for the diverse cultures that contribute to the wonderful tapestry of this town.

Visitors can look forward to a bustling array of food stalls offering delicious South Asian delicacies, as well as fashion stalls showcasing traditional and contemporary attire.
