There will be plenty going on at Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon this August, with a weekend of street food, live music, local makers and family entertainment on the way.
The Great Taste Weekend takes place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August, bringing independent food traders and local businesses to the outlet alongside a programme of free entertainment.
Visitors can expect a changing selection of food from around the world, with Moroccan and Punjabi dishes joining wings, churros, waffles and freshly baked treats.
Among the traders making an appearance are Ginger Wingman, Moroccan Kitchen, Churros, Pippins, Salatinos, Punjabi Food Junction and Elena’s Bakes.
There will also be Tuga Pastries, Momo King, Aristone, Glamorose, KooKoo Persian Street Food, Waffle Delight, Fruit & Veg and Haribo.
For those who prefer their shopping with a little local craft thrown in, Makers Yard will be at the outlet from Friday to Sunday, showcasing independent businesses and giving visitors the chance to browse and buy from local makers.
And it isn’t all about eating.
Free face painting will be available from noon until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, while live music will run from 2pm to 3pm on both days. A Monster Truck fairground ride will provide another attraction for younger visitors.
The outlet’s existing food businesses will be getting involved too, with Wagamama offering food and Five Guys and Krispy Kreme running a spin-the-wheel activity.
Sean Castle, Centre Manager at Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon, said the weekend was intended to bring people together during the summer holidays.
“The Great Taste Weekend is all about bringing people together to enjoy brilliant food, entertainment and something a little different during the summer holidays,” he said.
“We’re particularly pleased to be welcoming such a varied mix of independent traders and local makers to the outlet. Whether you’re coming along to discover a new favourite food, enjoy the live music or keep the kids entertained, there will be plenty happening across the weekend and we hope families and friends will make a day of it.”
There will be another big attraction at the outlet at the same time, with Big Kid Circus arriving in the West Car Park from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 August.
The circus will present its Jurassic show, combining a dinosaur theme with live circus entertainment across a five-day run.
Tickets and performance times are available through Big Kid Circus.
With the circus overlapping with the Great Taste Weekend, visitors will be able to combine shopping with food, music and entertainment during the August weekend.
