Avebury Manor Garden to become an outdoor gallery for sculpture exhibition

Sculpture will once again take centre stage at Avebury Manor Garden this autumn, as the popular Avebury Sculpture Exhibition returns for its 10th anniversary.

The exhibition runs from Saturday 5 September until Sunday 18 October, with the gardens transformed into an outdoor gallery showcasing work from more than 20 artists.

Visitors will be able to wander through the manor’s 11 distinctive garden ‘rooms’, discovering sculptures and artworks among the planting and autumn colours.

Some of the artists taking part will be exhibiting at Avebury for the first time, while many others are returning for the anniversary edition.

There should be plenty to catch the eye, with the exhibition deliberately bringing together a wide range of sculpture and artwork rather than restricting itself to a single style.

And if something particularly takes your fancy, there is no need to settle for simply admiring it. All the pieces on display will be available to buy, with enquiries handled at the visitor reception in the barn.

The exhibition is open daily from 10am to 5pm.

Normal admission prices to Avebury Manor Garden apply, while National Trust members can enter the garden free of charge.

Accessibility has also been taken into consideration, with the garden fully accessible to wheelchair and mobility scooter users. Visitors can ask at the barn’s reception for a map showing the step-free entrances.

For anyone looking for something a little different from the usual gallery visit, the exhibition offers the chance to combine art with a stroll through one of Wiltshire’s most distinctive historic landscapes.

The Avebury Sculpture Exhibition runs from Saturday 5 September to Sunday 18 October, 10am to 5pm daily.
