The vaccine was started to be administered on December 8th and the Government promised to have the top four priority groups offered their first dose by the middle of February.

Latest figures show almost ten million people across the UK have received the vaccine with 8,082,355 in England receiving the first dose and 460,907 the second dose – which is to be given three to 12 weeks after the first.

The second phase of the vaccine rollout, once the top four priority groups which account for around 15 million people have been completed, is to offer the vaccine to the remaining priority groups, which is made up of around 17m people in the UK by mid-April.

The Government has vowed to have everyone vaccinated against Covid-19 by the autumn.

Using the calculator, a 40 year old not in any priority group, would be anywhere between 19,035,938 and 29,548,126 in the queue for a first dose of COVID vaccine across the UK.

Given a vaccination rate of 2,746,528 a week the 40-year-old should expect to receive the first dose of vaccine between 10/05/2021 and 03/07/2021 with the second dose administered between 02/08/2021and 25/09/2021.

What are the Covid-19 vaccine priority groups?
The order of priority for each group in the population has been calculated using data on the number of individuals who would need to be vaccinated to prevent one death.

  1. Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
  2. All those 80 years of age and over, and frontline health and social care workers
  3. All those aged 75 and over
  4. All those 70 years of age and over, and clinically extremely vulnerable people
  5. All those 65 years of age and over
  6. All individuals between 16 and 64 with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality – the ‘vulnerable’ group
  7. All those 60 years of age and over
  8. All those 55 years of age and over
  9. All those 50 years of age and over
