Swift teamwork across Wiltshire Police has led to two men being charged with three separate burglary offences in the Swindon area.
Joseph Conway, 30, from Dublin, and Michael Kavanagh, 27, of Edmonton, London, are facing one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of burglary. Both men have been remanded in custody and are due before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (26 September).
The charges stem from incidents in Upper Stratton and Highworth on Wednesday. The pair were detained close to Gablecross Police Station following a pursuit supported by police dogs Conan and Bane.
Detective Inspector Steve Edwards of the Burglary Team praised the combined effort of officers:
“This was a fast-moving and well-coordinated investigation, bringing charges against the suspects shortly after the offences occurred. Burglary is a deeply intrusive crime and we remain committed to ensuring those responsible are brought to justice.”
The case will now proceed through the courts.
