The charges follow an incident in St Paul’s Street on the evening of Friday, 19 June. Emergency services were called to the area at around 9pm following reports that a firearm had been discharged.

A man was found with serious injuries consistent with a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police say he remains in a stable but critical condition.

The arrests were part of a major investigation launched by detectives following the shooting, which saw a significant police presence in the Gorse Hill area over the weekend and into the following week.

Wiltshire Police have confirmed that six other people arrested in connection with the investigation have since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

As criminal proceedings are now active, further details surrounding the allegations are likely to be heard in court.

The investigation remains ongoing.
