Thomas Cook are about to enter administration after informing suppliers in the USA that the business has ceased operating.
This sad news, should it be confirmed is set to leave around 9,000 UK jobs hanging in the balance and many thousands of holiday makers worried about their return home and future holidays.

• Airlines (including wet-lease specialists) have been given go-ahead to position to UK for rescue flights which will bring stranded passengers back to the UK, known as Operation Matterhorn
