Scotland could be the first UK nation to be able to head back to their local after Nicola Sturgeon confirmed she will allow a ‘gradual opening’ of its economy.
It is understood the move will allow pubs to serve drinks outdoors in beer gardens with Boris Johnson yet to confirm if English pubs can follow suit from July 4th, the date he set as the ‘earliest’ pubs can reopen.
At 12.30pm in @ScotParl I’ll set out next steps in easing lockdown. We’ll follow plan set out in routemap – but in a phased way. That means gradual opening of economy/public services & easing some restrictions on personal lives – but consistent with continued suppression of virus

Taking to Twitter this morning Ms Sturgeon said: ‘At 12.30pm in the Scottish Parliament I’ll set out next steps in easing lockdown.
‘We’ll follow plan set out in routemap – but in a phased way. That means gradual opening of economy/public services & easing some restrictions on personal lives – but consistent with continued suppression of virus.’
This appears to be a big move with non-essential retailers in Scotland still to be allowed to reopen.
All eyes on teh Scottish Parliament this afternoon.
