Boris Johnson’s Government has set out its plans for the year ahead in the Queen’s Speech earlier today.
The Queen does not write the speech herself, but reads a pre-prepared speech by the current government, the Conservative party.
With a general election looming in remains to be seen whether Boris Johnson and the Conservatives will get to carry out the proposals in the speech.

5 Making sure that employers pass on tips to workers

7 More powers for mayors
8 Compensation for victims of the Windrush scandal
9 A tax on single-use plastic items
10 Protecting animal welfare
11 Requiring voters to show ID at polling stations
12 A “long term plan” for the NHS
13 Paying for adult social care
14 The European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill
15 Ending freedom of movement
