MPs have this evening voted in favour of tearing up the Brexit divorce deal.
The Bill cleared its first Commons hurdle by 340 votes to 263, majority 77.
During the debate, Boris Johnson insisted the legislation was a necessary ‘legal safety net’ to protect the relationship between Great Britain and Northern Ireland despite any such agreement breaking international law.
