If the planning application is accepted by Swindon Borough Council the vacant Toys R Us site in Stratton could be transformed into Swindon’s biggest Home Bargains store.
TJ Morris Ltd, trading as Home Bargains, is one of the UK’s fastest growing discount retailers employing 22,000 staff throughout the UK have made an application to bring the site back in to use.
The application which was made on the 4th October states “Despite difficult trading conditions, retail demand does exist for Home Bargains, which is looking to strengthen its existing representation in Swindon.”
This would be the third location within Swindon and it is not yet known if either of the other locations would close.
