Great Western Hospital in Swindon collected a range of items worth £1,000 from a local developer for the benefit of its patients and visitors of the children’s ward.
Fiona Smith and Oliver Parmenter from David Wilson Homes visited the hospital to make the donation to its Brighter Futures team, and items included a Nintendo Switch with games and additional controllers and arts and crafts materials for all ages.
Also donated to the hospital were a wooden game of snakes and ladders, chalk boards, magnetic easels and 20 screw-top coffee mugs, which enable parents and visitors to safely transfer hot drinks from the coffee shop to the ward.
Lisa Utting, Fundraising Manager in the Brighter Futures Team at Great Western Hospital, said: “We were thrilled to receive the amazing donations from David Wilson Homes which will definitely put a smile on the faces of our young patients. Support like this helps us provide that extra special level of care that makes a real difference.”
