Sheik was arrested as part of the group who made off from police.  Once in the custody yard he tried to dispose of approx £1000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin but it was captured on CCTV.  He was then charged and released on court bail.

In December 2016 he was located in Cambridge in a drug addict’s house working with a drugs’ line.  He was arrested, charged and released on court bail.

Sheik then failed to attend his court  dates and remained wanted and on the run for almost two years but was arrested in early 2019 and was then remanded in custody.

He pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to supply heroin, one count of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and one count of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.  He received at total five years imprisonment.

PC Gareth Snoad from Wiltshire Police’s Dedicated Crime team, said:  “We recognise the real negative impact those involved in County Lines can have on members of the public and we are dedicated to tackling it.  I am really pleased with this result.

“This case shows that if you are arrested by the police in Swindon, no matter how long you try to evade the consequences, we will continue to locate and prosecute you.

“I would encourage the local community to help us by being our additional eyes and ears and passing any information on to us, which will lead to action being taken.”
