Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a fatal crash in Swindon last night.
The collision between a motorbike and a car happened shortly before 8pm yesterday (Monday 18 June 2018) on Penhill Drive at its junction with Durnford Road, in Penhill.
A white Peugeot 208 car was waiting at the junction of Durnford Road in order to pull out on to Penhill Drive, when a black and red Aprilla motorbike approached from Grafton Road onto Penhill Drive.
As the car pulled out on to Penhill Drive it collided with the motorbike.
The 28-year-old motorcyclist, who is from Swindon, sustained multiple injuries and sadly died at the scene.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 24-year-old man from Swindon, has been arrested in connection with the crash and is currently in police custody.
The road was closed for four hours to allow for collision investigation work and recovery of the vehicles involved.
