As we abandon Greenwich Mean Time the return of British Summer Time will mean extra daylight hours once the clocks are changed, for seven months at least.
The change happens in the last weekend of March every year and this year the clocks will go forward one hour at 1am on Sunday 31st March.

OK, we will lose an hour in bed on the Sunday morning, but gain an extra hour of sunlight in the evenings which is always a bonus, if the weather is decent anyway.
If you’re still unsure as to which way the clocks go, the easiest way to remember it is probably ‘spring forward, fall back’, although we obviously call it autumn in the UK, not fall.
