Two people have admitted their involvement in a violent robbery in Swindon, with sentencing due later this year.
Matthew Brown, 38, and Laura Taylor, 36, both appeared at Swindon Crown Court on 21 April, where they entered guilty pleas on the opening day of their scheduled trial.
Brown pleaded guilty to robbery, affray and possession of an offensive weapon, while Taylor admitted affray.
The charges relate to an incident on 1 May 2024 in Stratton St Margaret. The victim, a man in his 40s, was lured out of an address before being confronted by Brown, who held a knife to his throat and demanded money.
The incident continued into a nearby communal area, where the victim handed over cash before the pair fled. Despite the severity of the attack, he sustained only minor injuries.
The case was investigated by Wiltshire Police, with Detective Constable James Pugh describing it as a targeted assault.
“This was a serious incident involving a high level of violence,” he said. “Such behaviour has no place in our communities, and we will continue to take action against those responsible.”
Both defendants are due to be sentenced on 9 July.
