Banks will this evening stop offering the government backed Help to Buy Isa which could give first-time buyers up to £3,000 free cash.
This is because the government will top up any savings in the ISA account by 25 per cent if the cash is used to buy a house.
Those looking to benefit can save up to £200 a month in the account with a maximum of £1,200 in the first month.
You can open your account today with just a £1 deposit and will still be able to claim the bonus up until December 1st, 2030 so you’ve got plenty of time to get saving. The maximum amount that you can save is £12,000 meaning the biggest bonus is £3,000.
For those looking to buy a property before they are able to maximise their ISA you will still benefit, for every £200 you save the government will top it up by £50 and you also earn interest on top of whatever you save, tax free.
To open an account, you must be aged 16 or over, be a UK resident and you’ll need to know your national insurance number.
