Thomas Cook: Preparations in place to rescue holidaymakers

The travel company is just hours from administration, unless a last ditch rescue plan can be pulled-off.

Planes are ready to help the 160,000 passengers currently on holiday.

Should Thomas Cook, the world’s oldest travel firm, collapse in to administration there is a potential that 550 branches, including the Swindon central store, and around 9,000 UK jobs will be lost.

How your Thomas Cook holiday could be affected

If Thomas Cook collapses into administration, up to 160,000 UK holidaymakers would be stranded abroad and more than a million more would lose their future bookings.

The Civil Aviation Authority would be ordered by the Department for Transport to launch a repatriation operation to fly stranded passengers home.

What will happen to my booking?

If you are away on holiday the message is not to worry – the CAA will arrange for you to complete your holiday as planned and will set up an airline to bring you back to the UK at the end of your holiday.

Future Thomas Cook Holidays
