The Longevity Games: Countdown Begins for UK’s First Closed-Road Functional Fitness Event

With just a fortnight remaining, excitement is mounting as Swindon prepares to host a groundbreaking spectacle: the UK’s first-ever functional fitness competition on a closed road. The Longevity Games Summer 2025 will take over Moredon Sporting Hub on Sunday, 20th July, offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity for athletes of all abilities to test themselves in a setting never before seen on these shores.

Organisers have confirmed that entries will slam shut on Sunday, 6th July, leaving only days for fitness fans to secure their spot on the start line. The event is set to bring together competitors from across the country, keen to experience the energy of a fully closed-road course – an innovation usually reserved for marathons and cycling races.

Three entry levels ensure inclusivity for all, whether newcomers, weekend warriors, or hardened gym veterans:

Novice: Tailored for those starting or returning to fitness, with lighter challenges that build confidence and keep spirits high.

Intermediate: A step up for regular exercisers, featuring a blend of strength, endurance, and functional tasks to push performance.

Proficient: Reserved for those eager to measure themselves against the toughest of tests, this level will stretch even the most experienced participants.

Beyond the competition, The Longevity Games promises an electrifying atmosphere, uniting the local community with a shared celebration of health, perseverance, and camaraderie.

Speaking ahead of the event, organisers highlighted how unique the day will be: “This isn’t just a fitness event – it’s an opportunity to be part of a community that supports, motivates, and inspires. We’re excited to see competitors from every background come together for something truly special.”

With entries closing in 14 days – or 336 hours, 20,160 minutes, and 1,209,600 seconds – the message is clear: act now to be part of an unmissable moment in Swindon’s sporting history.
