Local artists come together for Prospect Hospice charity art auction

Artwork donated by professional and emerging local artists will go under the hammer in Swindon next month to raise money for Prospect Hospice.

The charity art auction will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Swindon Hotel near Junction 16 on Monday 19 October, with viewing from 6pm and the auction beginning at 7pm.

Organised by retired solicitor and former Rotary Club of Swindon President Jeremy Holt and local artist and Visual Art Swindon founder Caroline Day, the event will feature a mixture of original paintings and limited-edition fine art prints.

All money raised through the auction will go to Prospect Hospice.

Some of the donated artwork will be sold through a traditional auction, while other pieces will be available to purchase at fixed prices during the evening.

Holt has previously organised two successful charity art auctions in partnership with local artists, and the latest event brings together established names alongside emerging artists from the area.

The evening is being sponsored and supported by the Rotary Club of Swindon, Visual Art Swindon and GEL Studios.

Visitors will be able to view the artwork before the auction gets under way and a free drink will be provided on arrival. Organisers are encouraging people to bring along friends or anyone else who might be interested in supporting the event.

Tickets for the free event and the auction brochure are available from Prospect Hospice.
