A Swindon-based HR consultancy says it is continuing to expand at pace despite ongoing economic uncertainty and slower growth across the wider business sector.
The HR Dept, which covers Swindon, North Wiltshire and the East Cotswolds, recorded 24 per cent year-on-year growth last year and says it expects to match — or even exceed — that figure again during 2026.
The company, led by Managing Director Peter Jones, has grown its team to eight staff members, including two recent recruits, as demand for employment advice continues to rise.
Mr Jones, who has run the business since 2009, said much of the success comes down to the strength of the consultancy team and long-standing client relationships.
“We have grown particularly rapidly in the last two years, and I am confident that we are looking at similar growth this year,” he said.
“This is significant, because a high-growth business is deemed to be one growing at over 10 per cent a year.”
He credited Head of HR Consultancy Helen Imbusi with helping develop the team and maintain high levels of client retention.
“We have an exceptional team, brilliantly led by Helen, who has spent a lot of time developing our people and their core skills,” he said.
“As a result, our client retention is fantastic — the vast majority have been with us for some time, and the longest has been with us for nearly 20 years.”
The business says recent changes to employment legislation have also led to a sharp rise in enquiries from employers seeking support and guidance.
Mr Jones said the volume of reforms introduced through employment law changes had created uncertainty for many businesses.
“The changes to employment legislation mean a lot more companies require support,” he added.
“But they choose the HR Dept and stay with us because of the quality of service we deliver.”
The consultancy operates across Swindon, North Wiltshire and the East Cotswolds, supporting businesses with HR advice, legal compliance and workplace issues
