Businesses from across Swindon and Wiltshire are being encouraged to attend a major sustainability event later this month aimed at helping organisations cut emissions while boosting long-term growth.
Swindon Borough Council is partnering with the Wiltshire Climate Alliance to host Greener Business Day on Friday 22 May at The Workshed in the Carriage Works development.
The free event will bring together companies, sustainability specialists and regional organisations for a day of workshops, panel discussions and networking focused on greener business practices.
Organisers say the event is designed to demonstrate how sustainability is increasingly linked to innovation, competitiveness and financial resilience.
Businesses attending will hear from organisations already embedding low-carbon approaches into their operations, while practical sessions will explore ways companies can begin or expand their own decarbonisation efforts.
A range of major employers and sustainability-focused firms are set to take part, including Zurich, Nationwide Building Society, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Sinewave, Wiltshire Energy and Nanogreen.
The event is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors and aims to showcase both the environmental and commercial benefits of sustainable working practices.
Organisers say growing investor expectations, customer demand and regulatory pressures mean decarbonisation is increasingly becoming a key part of long-term business planning.
Greener Business Day will run from 9.30am until 4pm at The Workshed, located within Swindon’s Carriage Works regeneration area.
