Rotary Club Launches New Corporate Membership to Boost Community Action in Swindon

A new way for local businesses to make a real difference in Swindon has arrived, thanks to a fresh initiative launched by the Rotary Club of Swindon North & Thamesdown.

For more than a century, Rotary has been a quiet force for good in towns and cities across the globe, including right here in Swindon. Now, with the introduction of a Corporate Membership category, the club is inviting companies—large and small—to roll up their sleeves and get involved.

Whether it’s backing Prospect Hospice, championing local children through the Young Chef competition, or contributing to major health campaigns like End Polio Now, Rotary’s legacy in the town is both wide-ranging and impressive. And now it’s opening the door for businesses to get involved in a way that suits modern expectations around corporate social responsibility.

Your Holiday Starts Now

The concept is simple: instead of an individual joining Rotary, a business can now become a member. This gives companies a chance to visibly support their local community, while also offering staff opportunities to develop new skills, expand their local networks, and play a part in meaningful causes.

The benefits include direct involvement in charitable projects, leadership and team-building experiences for employees, and the chance to collaborate with other like-minded organisations.

Club Secretary Ian Jeary said: “We’re excited to be opening up our club to corporate members. So many businesses in Swindon want to give back, but don’t always know how to do it effectively. Rotary provides a trusted, well-established platform to do just that—whether it’s helping raise funds for Swindon Food Collective or supporting vital services like the Thamesdown Hydrotherapy Pool.”

And it’s not just about financial support. Corporate members can get stuck in with hands-on projects, volunteer time and skills, and even help shape future initiatives. The club has been a long-standing backer of Prospect Hospice, co-launched the £3 million Brighter Futures appeal at GWH, and has donated over £1.5 million to good causes in the past 60 years.

In the last year alone, the club has supported groups like Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Operation Smile, and the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group. They’ve also kept up their work with local schools and colleges through popular initiatives such as the Young Musicians’ and Young Chef competitions.

If you’re a business in Swindon looking to make an impact, Corporate Rotary Membership could be the gateway to doing just that—alongside others who genuinely care about the community.
