Wiltshire Police are urging residents in Coate to check their CCTV and doorbell footage after a burglary that left two women shaken in their own home. The incident, which officers have now confirmed took place at around 5.15pm on Saturday, 6 December, saw three masked men force their way into a property on Homington Avenue.
According to police, the men – all wearing balaclavas and gloves – demanded to know where jewellery was kept before helping themselves to a number of valuable items. The haul included an iPhone, a gold bracelet, a designer handbag, designer clothing, a jewellery box and car keys.
The trio left the address just six minutes later, at 5.21pm, and were last seen running towards Clouds Row, carrying their loot in an orange bag and what appeared to be a pillowcase.
Detective Sergeant James Rodrigues said the victims were understandably distressed by the ordeal.
“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to identify those responsible and to recover the stolen property,” he said. “We’re asking anyone in the Badbury Park area to review their CCTV, doorbell footage or even dash cam recordings taken between 5pm and 5.30pm on 6 December. Even a small detail captured in passing could prove significant.”
