Wiltshire Police are appealing for two people to come forward following an alleged assault in Swindon town centre during the early hours of Monday morning.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault after officers were called to an incident in the town centre on 26 May.
Police say the two potential victims had already left the area before officers arrived and investigators are now trying to trace them as enquiries continue.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to Great Western Hospital, where he was further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and committing public order offences.
He has since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.
Wiltshire Police are urging anyone who believes they may have been involved in the incident, or who witnessed what happened, to get in touch.
A spokesperson said it was important officers speak directly with the two potential victims.
