A man in his 30s was later arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including assault, criminal damage, drug driving, possession of a Class C drug, using counterfeit notes, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police are now asking anyone who may have seen what happened—or who may have relevant information—to come forward.

Witnesses can contact officers via email at 70495@wiltshire.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting reference 54260038577. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

As investigations continue, officers are keen to piece together a clearer picture of events in what would normally be a quiet corner of the village.
