Despite the recent cold weather contractors have continued to make steady progress on Junction 16, with the drainage almost complete.
Works have also continued to install ducts, kerbs, traffic signs and street lamps across the site whilst preparations for the construction of the right turn into Hay Lane, including laying the foundations for the new road are ongoing.
There will be some necessary overnight works to facilitate this work, previously postponed, due to bad weather.
Planned upcoming closures between 8pm and 6am:
Tonight (Fri, 9) – Swindon Road, A3102 and Westbound on slip road
Saturday, 10March – Swindon Road, A3102 and Westbound on slip road
Sunday, 11 March – Swindon Road, A3102 and Westbound on slip road
There are also planning to resurface the entire roundabout in a series of overnight shifts from Monday, 19th March which will result in some lane restrictions and temporary closures in place which will allow the team to complete the work and keep the roundabout open.
