Swindon Pickleball is preparing to round off another busy year with its Christmas Festival, and anyone hoping to take part is being encouraged to secure their place before the event sells out.
The two-day festival takes place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 December 2026 at the Delta Tennis Centre in Westlea, bringing players together for a weekend of pickleball, friendly competition and a chance to catch up with others who share a love of the sport.
With just 11 full weekend spaces remaining at the latest count, organisers are expecting another well-supported event as interest in pickleball continues to grow.
The Christmas Festival has become a popular fixture in the club’s calendar, attracting players from all over the UK looking for a relaxed, sociable atmosphere alongside plenty of time on court.
Two days of pickleball in Swindon
The festival will run from 11am until 7pm on Saturday, with play continuing from 10am until 6pm on Sunday.
Players can choose to attend for one day or make a full weekend of it, with tickets priced at £30 for either Saturday or Sunday, or £50 for both days.
The event welcomes players across different ability levels, with the registration form allowing entrants to indicate their playing rating so organisers can plan suitable games.
Although there will be plenty of pickleball throughout the weekend, the social side is just as important.
Swindon Pickleball has built its community around making the sport enjoyable and accessible, giving people the opportunity to meet others, develop their game and enjoy playing in a friendly environment.
For those attending on Saturday, organisers are also arranging a social gathering afterwards, with a buffet at a local pub included for players who join the evening get-together.
It offers another opportunity for visitors travelling from outside Swindon to get to know fellow players away from the courts.
A growing community of pickleball players
Pickleball has attracted increasing interest across Swindon, with the club running regular sessions alongside its larger festival weekends.
The sport combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis and is played using paddles and a lightweight perforated ball.
Its relatively straightforward rules make it accessible to newcomers, while more experienced players can enjoy fast-paced, competitive rallies.
Swindon Pickleball has focused on the social side of the game, with regular sessions designed to encourage participation and bring people together.
The club’s festivals have taken that approach further, attracting players from beyond the town and helping to build friendships between people who might otherwise never have met.
With the Christmas Festival almost at capacity, the demand suggests there is plenty of enthusiasm for more events in the year ahead.
Three more festivals already confirmed for 2027
Organisers are already looking beyond Christmas, with three festival weekends confirmed for next year.
The 2027 calendar includes:
- Spring Festival: Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March 2027.
- Early Summer Festival: Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June 2027.
- End of Summer Festival: Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 September 2027.
All three events will take place at the Delta Tennis Centre in Swindon.
Players wanting to attend every festival can take advantage of the club’s All-3 booking option, with a combined day ticket priced at £80 or a full weekend package covering all three festivals costing £135.
The advance packages are intended for those who already know they want to be part of the club’s festival calendar next year.
