A Highworth school is celebrating a welcome boost to its library after receiving £900 worth of new books from local housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes.
Highworth Warneford School was gifted the sizeable collection as part of the developer’s community support around its nearby Honeymans Helm development. The school’s librarian personally selected the titles, choosing a broad mix to appeal to a wide range of ages, interests and reading abilities — and ensuring every book on the shelf offers something new.
Sophie Hesten, Principal at Highworth Warneford School, welcomed the donation, saying:
“Reading for pleasure is an important part of our curriculum and this has been a fantastic donation which has enabled us to extend our library provision.”
Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, added:
“We’re delighted to support Highworth Warneford School with this donation. Encouraging young people to develop a love of reading is vital and it’s great to know these new books will spark imaginations and inspire learning for years to come. As a leading developer, we’re proud to help the community around our Honeymans Helm development enhance their education.”
