Four Teenagers Arrested Following E-Bike Robbery in Swindon Park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was robbed of his e-bike in a Swindon park.

The incident happened between 5.30pm and 5.40pm on 23 May in Queen Charlotte’s Park, Redhouse.

According to Wiltshire Police, a 16-year-old boy was riding his e-bike through the park when he was approached by a group of around five or six youths.

The group allegedly demanded that he hand over the bike before also taking his backpack.

Police said the suspects were dressed in black clothing and were wearing face coverings or balaclavas.

After the robbery, the group dispersed in different directions.

Following enquiries by officers, the stolen e-bike has since been recovered, although the investigation remains ongoing.

Four 16-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The incident has caused concern locally, particularly given the age of those involved and the fact it took place in a public park during the early evening.

Wiltshire Police are now asking anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the group in the area beforehand, or has any information that may assist the investigation to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in Queen Charlotte’s Park around the time of the robbery and may have seen the suspects arriving or leaving the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 54260061670.
