Dominic Raab makes the new restrictions even more confusing

Boris Johnson unveiled his roadmap for easing lockdown restrictions in England yesterday evening, advising people should return back to work from today if they are unable to work from home and saying people could take unlimited exercise outdoors and travel to other places by car from Wednesday.

Adding confusion to this message, Dominic Raab when speaking to the BBC this morning said people should only go to work from Wednesday and also saying it was fine to meet two people from other households as long you keep two metres apart.

Urging people to go back to work from Wednesday and not today as instructed by the Prime Minister Raab said ““If you can work from home, you should continue to do so, but there are nine sectors of the economy like manufacturing and construction, where people can’t do their job from home,

Your Holiday Starts Now

“So we’re saying to them they should now from Wednesday, go back to work.”

When talking about socialising he said: “If you’re out in the park and you’re two metres apart, we’re saying now, (if you) use some common sense and you socially distance, you can meet up with other people.”

A little later he was asked again about meeting others from different households such as meeting their mother in the morning and their father in the afternoon, he said: “Outside in the outdoors, staying two metres apart, yes,” he was then asked if people could meet both of their parents in a park, Raab said: “Well, you could if there’s two metres apart.”

The full details of the latest lockdown restrictions are expected this afternoon so hopefully there will be something a little clearer from them.
