Debenhams in the town centre will remain closed after the government lockdown has been lifted.
This news has been confirmed this afternoon with a company Spokesperson saying “Sadly we have been unable to agree terms with the landlord in Swindon and as a result this store will not be re-opening when government restrictions are lifted.
“We greatly regret the effect on our colleagues, who have served our customers in Swindon with commitment and dedication.
“In the meantime our customers can continue to shop with us online as usual at www.debenhams.com”
This news comes after the Swindon store was initially left off of the closures list released by Debenhams just a week ago.
We have reached out to Meadow Residential, the building landlords to see if there are any plans for the site.
