A snap poll by YouGov has found 57 per cent of people believe the relaxed Christmas Covid rules should be scrapped and the current regulations remaining in place.
The YouGov poll asked 3,586 Brits on Tuesday about what they thought of the idea to relax the rules.
- 57 per cent overall saying it should be scrapped,
- 31 per cent said the easing should go ahead as planned
- 12 per cent said they were unsure.
In the different age ranges, 70 per cent of those aged 65 and over and 61 per cent of 50 to 64-year-olds want to scrap the relaxed rules plan with over half of 18 to 24-year-olds – think the current regulations should stay in place over Christmas.
Of all of the age groups, the 25 to 49-year-olds came out the lowest with just 49 per cent wanting to drop the relaxed Christmas regulations.
