A total of 10,490,487 people throughout the UK have now received the first dose of the vaccine in England with a further 469,016 recorded on Thursdays update.
501,957 people have so far received both doses of the vaccine.
According to reports from NHS England these figures now include 88.1 per cent of over 80s in England have received the vaccine as of January 31st.
“We are on track to deliver the commitment we have made of offering the jab to all of the top four priority groups by February 15,” confirmed Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
“I’m just so proud of the team who are delivering this, it’s going really, really well.
“You saw yesterday 10 million jabs done. Today we passed the threshold of one in five of the population who have been jabbed already.”
