A big-name addition has been confirmed for summer’s Forest Live series, with Richard Ashcroft set to headline at Westonbirt Arboretum.
The former The Verve frontman will close the week of concerts at the woodland venue on Sunday 28 June, bringing his band to one of the more distinctive stops on the touring calendar.
Support on the night comes from Tom Meighan and indie outfit Apollo Junction, rounding out a line-up that leans heavily into guitar-driven favourites.
Ashcroft’s return to the stage comes amid renewed interest in his back catalogue, from the success of Urban Hymns through to his solo work. His latest album, Lovin’ You, has added further momentum, alongside a run of high-profile appearances — including recent shows supporting Oasis — and a sell-out arena tour that has seen strong demand across the UK.
Forest Live itself marks a milestone in 2026, celebrating 25 years of outdoor concerts organised by Forestry England. The series combines established acts with woodland settings, drawing large audiences to venues including Cannock Chase, Delamere Forest and Thetford Forest, as well as Westonbirt.
The wider anniversary line-up already includes names such as Nile Rodgers & Chic, Rick Astley, McFly, Snow Patrol and UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, with further announcements expected.
Organisers say the concerts play a wider role beyond entertainment, with proceeds helping to maintain forests, support conservation work and fund tree planting projects. Forestry England manages more than 1,500 woods nationwide and reported millions of visits over the past year.
Tickets for the Westonbirt show go on general sale on Friday 28 November, with a limited pre-sale available earlier in the month.
For fans, it’s another chance to see Ashcroft in a setting that trades arenas for open air — though the scale, judging by recent demand, is unlikely to feel any smaller.
