A super computer predicted back in January that Swindon Town are going to avoid relegation at the end of the season finishing sixth from bottom.
Ian McHale, professor of sports analytics at the University of Salford, has built a super computer called SAM (Sports Analytics Machine) and tasked it with predicting the final Championship, League One and League Two tables by guessing the result of every match between mid January and the end of the season. The results are good news for Town fans with the forecast predicting the Robins will finish with 50 points and end up above Oldham, Coventry, Chesterfield, Shrewsbury and Bury.
With MK Dons, AFC Wimbledon and Scunthorpe still to visit the County Ground and away trips to Walsall and Charlton this seasons safety is expected to go right down to the final fixture at The Valley but 50 points and safety is not out of the question. (although we would prefer 54 points please)
The accuracy of this machine for finishing places, Oldham aside, is looking good so fingers crossed!
