Swindon Town have confirmed defender Ryan Tafazolli has signed a new contract to remain at the Nigel Eady County Ground for the forthcoming campaign.
The experienced centre-back has become a key figure within the Robins squad since arriving at the club, earning praise for his leadership, composure and influence both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
The new agreement forms part of Swindon Town’s ongoing efforts to build a competitive and experienced squad as preparations continue for next season.
Manager Ian Holloway said Tafazolli’s importance to the group extended far beyond his performances in defence.
“Ryan is a top professional and someone who brings so much to this football club,” he said.
“His experience, leadership, and calmness are hugely important for us, and you can see the impact he has on the players around him every single day.”
Holloway described the defender as a major presence within the squad and said keeping experienced characters at the club would be vital moving forward.
“He’s a real leader both on and off the pitch and having characters like Ryan in your squad is absolutely vital,” he added.
“I’m delighted he’s staying with us because he’ll play a massive role in what we’re trying to achieve moving forward.”
Tafazolli’s contract extension follows a period of squad building at Swindon Town F.C., with the club aiming to combine experience and leadership with younger talent ahead of the new season.
Supporters will now be hoping the defender can continue to provide stability at the heart of the Robins back line as the side looks to push forward in the coming campaign.
