News that Manchester City are interested in signing Town keeper Lawrence Vigouroux is doing the rounds this evening although a Swindon Town spokesperson has confirmed ‘this is the first we have heard of it.’
Despite Town fighting relegation for much of this season it hasn’t stopped rumours of the Premiership big boys looking to secure the signature of the 23 year-old keeper who only joined Town permanently in the summer.
Matthew Nash of HITC.com writing ‘City have had issues in goal all season, with Bravo not impressing and Joe Hart being shipped out on loan.
But Vigouroux fits the Guardiola profile and could be an exciting option for the future if Manchester City swoop for the player.
With Town looking likely to drop into League Two it remains to be seen if Vigouroux, who is under contract until 2019, will remain at the County Ground to seek an immediate return to League One or will he head off to warm the bench at the Etihad?
