Harry Smith Set to Extend Stay as Swindon Town Continue Summer Contract Progress

The Swindonian understands that Harry Smith has agreed a contract extension to remain at Swindon Town, further strengthening the club’s efforts to retain a solid core of players from last season’s squad.

Smith, who signed on a free transfer from Sutton United last summer, enjoyed a standout campaign and was rightly named in the Sky Bet League Two 2024/25 Team of the Season.

The 29-year-old forward finished as Swindon’s leading scorer, netting 17 goals and providing five assists across 44 appearances in all competitions. While goals came from various areas of the pitch, there was no doubt that Smith was the primary attacking threat in Ian Holloway’s side.

The Swindonian also understands that Will Wright is poised to extend his stay at the County Ground, although formal confirmation has yet to be announced. Should his deal go through as expected, it would further reinforce the team’s defensive stability heading into the new season.

This follows confirmed extensions for Paul Glatzel, Connor Ripley, Aaron Drinan, and Joel McGregor, and the signing of Tom Nichols, with the club evidently prioritising continuity as part of their strategy for 2025/26.

That leaves just Nnamdi Ofoborh as the only player yet to finalise terms on the contract offered to him.

With pre-season preparations already underway, the news of Smith’s extension — coupled with other key players staying — paints an optimistic picture for Robins fans as the club looks to build on the promise of last season.
