Tom Nichols Returns to Swindon Town After Agreeing Terms With Holloway

It is believed Swindon Town have secured another key piece of their summer puzzle, as The Swindonian understands striker Tom Nichols has agreed terms to return to the County Ground for the 2025/26 campaign.

Nichols, who was released by Mansfield Town at the end of the season, spent the second half of last term on loan with Swindon — making 20 appearances, scoring 2 goals, and contributing 2 assists. His return now becomes permanent following productive discussions with new manager Ian Holloway.

The 30-year-old forward impressed with his work rate, link-up play and experience during his time in red and white, and Holloway has moved quickly to ensure he remains part of the club’s plans moving forward.

Nichols’ signing continues a promising run of squad continuity at SN1, with Joel McGregor, Paul Glatzel, Connor Ripley and Aaron Drinan all agreeing new contracts in recent days.

There’s a clear pattern emerging: retaining and reuniting the group that brought cohesion and competitiveness towards the end of the 2024/25 season.

Holloway, known for his attacking philosophy and motivational style, will no doubt view Nichols as a reliable figure to lead from the front — both on and off the pitch.
