Police were called to a caravan fire in the garden of a property on Marlowe Avenue early this morning.
Whilst the fire brigade dealt with the fire our officers entered the address to check on the safety of the residents inside.
In one of the bedrooms a small number of cannabis plants were discovered.
39-year-old Steven Woodhams, from Marlowe Avenue, was arrested at the address and subsequently charged with producing cannabis.
He has now been released on unconditional bail.
Enquiries in to the fire, which is being treated as arson, are ongoing.
