Today we take a look at the milestones you are expected to hit whilst growing up between the ages of 1 – 19 according to research conducted late last year.
It is expected that children will learn to see things from another person’s perspective by the time they reach three, experience gratitude at seven hit their sulky and tantrum peak at fourteen.
If a boy is gay it is expected he will come out at the age of sixteen, the age at which the average girl will lose her virginity.
1 – Say your first word
2 – Children learn to lie
4 – The first swear word is spoken
8 – You will own your first mobile phone
10 – That mobile becomes a smartphone
13 – You will have your first alcoholic drink
15 – Boys lose their virginity whilst girls have their first kiss
16 – Girls will lose their virginity 12 months after the average boy
19 – You will take your first holiday without your parents.
What is your thought on the outcome of this research? Should we allow children as young as eight to have their own mobile phone and start drinking at 13? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
Come back tomorrow to see what 20 – 39 will bring.
