Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with life-threatening injuries following a serious road traffic collision in Swindon in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, 8 November).
The female pedestrian was struck by a car on Dorcan Way, which did not remain at the scene. She is currently receiving treatment in hospital, and officers believe it is possible that the driver may be unaware that they struck someone.
Dorcan Way remains closed in both directions from the Morrison’s roundabout to the Nythe Road junction while the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) examines the scene. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.
Officers are appealing for the driver involved — as well as any witnesses or those with dash cam footage from between 4am and 6am — to come forward as soon as possible.
Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 46 of 8 November.
Alternatively, email: SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk.
