With the governments four step road map to the UK coming out of Covid-19 restrictions it appears travel is one of the first things people have turned to as something to look forward to.
Earlier in the week Tui and Easyjet reported a huge surge in holiday bookings for this summer and now travel website Booking.com has reported an increase in searches since the announcement by Boris Johnson.
Eight out of ten the most searched for destinations were in the UK with Cornwall, Devon, Yorkshire and The Scottish Highlands all seeing an increase in searches.
Croatia, France and Spain are among the most sought-after places for those looking for a holiday overseas.

Ryan Pearson, Regional Manager at Booking.com said: “Since the Government announcement there seems to be a real sense of optimism amongst us Brits and I am sure I am not the only one who is counting down the days until travel restrictions are eased.
“In light of the vaccine rollout and with many of us eager to experience the world once again, there is no surprise that we are seeing an increase in bookings for domestic summer getaways in particular – I personally cannot wait for some sun and sea with my family and the UK has so much to offer.
“We look forward to travel resuming when the time is right, and this is great news not only for travellers, but also for the tourism industry and economy as whole.”
