Three more coronavirus deaths at Great Western Hospital confirmed

A total of 75 people have now died at the Great Western Hospital from Covid-19 with the latest figures showing a further three deaths recorded in the latest figures.

The figures have just been released by the NHS and show England recording 587 deaths in hospitals, an increase on previous days.

These figures come just 24hours after Great Western Hospitals Chief Executive Kevin McNamara confirmed 100 patients have so far been discharged from the Great Western Hospital after recovering from coronavirus.

The latest number of cases reported by Public Health England as of pm yesterday in Swindon is 322 with total cases in Wiltshire at 369. (the Wiltshire figure appears to have been revised as this was higher earlier in the week)

These daily death figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed cases reported at 5pm the previous day. Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure. This means that the totals reported at 5pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days.

These figures do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes. This approach makes it possible to compile deaths data on a daily basis using up to date figures.
