Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was left needing surgery on a broken jaw following a serious assault in the town centre in the lead up to Christmas.
The 18-year-old man, tried to break up an altercation between a group of people outside the library in Regent Circus at around 3.30am on Saturday 22nd December 2018.
He was subsequently punched in the face and suffered a fractured jaw and the loss of several teeth.
Det Con Mike Armishaw, from Swindon CID, said: “This was a serious, unprovoked assault, which left the victim needing a three-hour operation to treat his broken jaw.
“He will need ongoing medical care and has been left in significant pain and distress by what happened to him.
“If you were in the area at the time and could help us with our enquiries, then please contact police.”
The suspects are described as two black males.
