Swindon & Wiltshire Pride Seeks Volunteers to Help Deliver 2026 Celebration

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride is appealing for volunteers to help deliver this year’s celebrations, with organisers looking for community-spirited people to support one of the county’s biggest events promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

The charity is recruiting volunteers aged 18 and over to assist across three days in August, helping prepare, run and dismantle the annual Pride event at GWR Park.

A variety of roles are available, giving people the opportunity to get involved whether they can spare a few hours or a full day.

Preparations begin on Friday, August 14, when volunteers will help set up gazebos, mark out stall locations, litter pick and assist the event team in getting the site ready.

On Saturday, August 15, volunteers will welcome visitors, staff entrance points, collect donations, help keep the site tidy and support the smooth running of the festival throughout the day.

The final stage takes place on Sunday, August 16, when volunteers will help dismantle equipment, clear the site and leave the park in excellent condition.

Amy Norris, Volunteer Manager for Swindon & Wiltshire Pride, said: “Pride simply couldn’t happen without our incredible volunteers. Whether you can give a few hours helping us set up, support visitors on the day itself, or help us pack everything away afterwards, you’ll be making a real difference.

“Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet new people, give something back to your community and help us keep Pride free and accessible for everyone. We’d love to welcome new faces to the team this year.”

Organisers say volunteering offers the chance to gain experience of running a major community event while supporting the local LGBTQIA+ community and meeting people from across Wiltshire.

Ahead of the main Pride celebration, the charity is also organising a Pride Fortnight, featuring a programme of events over the previous two weeks.

Activities include bowling, pottery making, a film night and a range of other social events designed to bring the community together before Pride Day.

Anyone interested in volunteering can register their interest by emailing volunteer@swindonwiltshirepride.org.uk, while tickets and further information about Pride Fortnight are available through the Swindon & Wiltshire Pride website.
