In light of the looming school holidays and an escalating cost of living crisis, the Swindon Food Collective has issued a heartfelt plea for donations.
The team responsible for operating the Swindon Foodbank predicts a sharp rise in demand as their supplies are running low. It has been revealed that approximately 11,000 Swindon residents turn to the food bank each year for support.
To meet the escalating demand, the Swindon Food Collective is urgently seeking donations of specific food items. These include tins and jars of meat and meat-based meals such as chilli con carne, ravioli, and curry. Additionally, they require donations of fruits, puddings like custard and rice pudding, assorted vegetables including mixed vegetables and tomatoes, as well as tinned and powdered soups, and pasta sauce.
Everyday items are also welcomed as contributions to help those in need. Among these are packets of sugar, essential toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and sanitary products, as well as deodorant. Additionally, laundry pods and washing-up liquid are essential items that will be gratefully accepted.
