Over the past year, from April 2022 to May 2023, more than 11,000 Swindon residents have relied on food bank supplies.
In response to this pressing need, the Swindon Food Collective, through its 11 distribution centres, has distributed over 122,000 kilos of food, toiletries, and household products to help those experiencing financial difficulties.
However, the Swindon Food Bank is currently facing a significant challenge. They are receiving one ton less of food per month compared to the same time last year. This shortage threatens their ability to meet the increasing demand from individuals and families who rely on their support.
So, how can we make a difference? There are several donation points across Swindon where you can contribute to the Swindon Food Bank. They are specifically looking for items such as tins of meat, fruits and vegetables, toiletries, and household items.
Your donations will go a long way in ensuring that no one in Swindon goes hungry. By providing these essential items, you can directly impact the lives of those who are finding it difficult to make ends meet. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and help alleviate the strain caused by the ongoing financial crisis.
Furthermore, if you prefer to contribute funds, you can make a monetary donation to support the Swindon Food Bank’s mission. These funds will help them continue their crucial work of increasing food security in the community.
Remember, even the smallest contribution can make a significant impact. Whether it’s donating food, toiletries, household products, or contributing funds, your support will help the Swindon Food Bank ensure that no one in Swindon goes without.
