The Swindon Borough Council gritting team covered around 200 miles of road overnight ensuring the main routes are covered.

Crews are continuing to work through the day today and have so far this morning covered the following roads:
- Thamesdown Drive,
- Penhill Valley (Minety/Ramsbury/Downton Road),
- Westfield Way,
- Marlborough Rd to hospital,
- Marlborough Rd to Old Town,
- Drove Road,
- Cricklade Street,
- Croft Rd,
- Pipers Way,
- Victoria Hill,
- Eascott Hill,
- Kingshill Rd,
- Windsor Rd,
Rural routes are due to be treated shortly but the main message is one from the police which is to urge drivers to avoid non-essential driving.
